It's not specifically camping that ruins this game.
More down to the mechanics Infinity Ward put into the game which encourages extremely easy and low cost camping, which also completely deters people from rushing. Sound perks and footsteps in general are an abomination, as are Thermal Scopes, Tracker Sights and streaks like the Guard Dog. This means camping takes less skill than it ever has in a COD game.
Effective rushing is very cost heavy perk-wise which means camping is the much more effective option now especially that we don't have any rewards whatsoever for objective gameplay.
