When you go down below the pack-a-punch machine, look next to the tables and you will be able to pick up and old fashioned record player, you will also need to have the black record in hand as well. Once you have both pieces, in the same room you picked up the record player, place it on the table next to where you found it. The stairs will open up and you will be able to go further down.
