In all my time playing COD I've notice that it is players with higher KD's that leave games earlier if they are getting an arse whooping. Sad but true. I'm not saying all top KD players do this.
I play a lot of Dom as a lone wolf. Generally my KD is about even (nothing flash / don't care), but my caps are almost always in top 3. I never leave games due to having my arse handed to me. Why?, simple. If folks call in their Killstreaks, etc, they should reap the rewards, if I'm on the end of it, so be it. Nevertheless, I can tell you this --> during BO2 whenever my team took a pounding, the guys who left when killstreaks came in were those with higher KD's. I'd end up with maybe one other poor sod on my team struggling on.
Unfortunately there are too many players with the attitude of "if I'm not winning I'm gonna take my bat and ball and go home"
Therefore there does need to be penalties for leaving early. Incentives for staying in JIP "losing" matches,, etc.
I like the idea of a JIP not contributing to either a win or loss -- no idea if this is even programmable.
I like the idea of a match completed stat.
I like the idea of a probation system.......not once was I put on probation during BO2. However, sure the BO2 system could be improved.
Most importantly though the mentality of gamers needs to change, Even with all the incentives listed above - gaming companies can only do so much. The honor of gaming is being lost on the youngsters coming through, a generalization I know, but it's a continuing trend. I don't have the solution, not even close,,, I just try to be a good role model for those gamers who I lobby up with.
